These are the musings of a retired male. Some may be interesting, some may be boring, but all will be true. It will contain info om PEI and some links I find interesting. Pull up a chair and enjoy.

Canadian Midget Softball Championships

The C'dn midget softball Championships are being held in S'side this week and I spent the best part of Tue. & Thu. watching some of the best players from across Canada. It is still going on and is not over till Sun afternoon when the championship game is played. PEI as host had 2 teams and should have only had one as being a small province our talent pool is very shallow. The twins are a very good team are in the final 8 for the play-offs. The other team to tell it like it is stink and a disgrace to our fair province. Now don't get me wrong as winning is not the only thing when it comes to something like this but they did not even know the fundamentals and what to do under different circumstances. To not be the best is no sin but to not know what to do is inexcusable. They tell me that this is our Canada Games Team for next years Canada Games, if that is so well the coaches better get off their butts and start to teach these kids how to play the game, if not I don't think they should go.
The weather has been really hot here the last week and while attending the ball games this week I got burnt all to hell. When I am through with this post I am going to walk to the Wallmart to get something to put on it. Didn't get much sleep last night as I suffered a little bit with it.
Time for story time:
Our house caught fire the other day, This was the first time my wife and I went out together in more than 3 years!

Hot Monday.

Well here it is the first Mon. in August and if you went into Zellers this morning it was not to hard to figure out. It is seniors day and all customers over 55 get a 10% discount, if you run a business and would like to increase traffic set side some time each month for a seniors discount. I promise you they will come, even better offer them a free coffee and the best draw is a free bingo regardless how cheesy the prizes. Zellers open at 8:00AM and have a free bingo and $1.00 breakfast, they start lining up at 7:30 to get in to the bingo.
yesterday the Canadian Midget Fastpitch Championship started here in S'side and the championship game will held next Sun. There are 13 teams here from across Canada and if you like softball the best young players from Canada will be performing here this week. I think I will attend at least tomorrow for the day. Cost is $5.00 per day or $35.00 for the week. Tomorrows schedule is good and I will get to watch both PEI teams as both will play tomorrow. I will tell you after how it went and how good the players are.
Now for my story:
I thought I had married, "miss right" until after when I found out her first name was "Always."

Thanks Josh.

I had a comment from Josh advising me I had spelt S'side wrong in my profile. Thank you Josh for bringing it to my attention as me or anyone else who happened to read this blog had not noticed. I finally got it corrected but it was a lot of work. The sad part is that is not the first word I have ever misspelled and sadly will not be the last.
Today was a dark, dingy day so after lunch I decided to take a drive and did not take my camera because I find that pics taken on days like this are never as bright and colorful as what you see. I went through Indian River to Spring Valley and than on to Seaview. There I turned on the the County Line road which runs along the boundary of Prince and Queens county. It started out as a narrow 2 lane paved road to turn into a 2 lane red clay road. A little further on it became a single lane red clay road through a woods and was it ever beautiful. I can't wait for autumn when the trees will be in full color and I will be able to get some really nice pics, hopefully by than I will have my photo site up and running. If you are reading this Frankie I may need help. P.E.I. is so very beautiful that I want to share this beauty with anyone who cares to see my pics. I swear that P.E.I. really means Pretty Every Inch and can't wait to show you. My next pics will be the Harvest festival Parade in Kensington around the 21'st of August.
that's it for another day except the story:
A man walked into a doctors office with a banana in his left ear, a cucumber in his right ear and a carrot up his nose. He asked the Dr. for his diagnosis and the Dr. says, " you're not eating properly."
Till next time, take care.
