These are the musings of a retired male. Some may be interesting, some may be boring, but all will be true. It will contain info om PEI and some links I find interesting. Pull up a chair and enjoy.

Short post

Tonight I will have a short post as I am a bit weary and the weather has cooled off and I will sleep good tonight.  I didn't get to sleep till after 2:00am last night and had to get up at 6:30AM.
Why I got up early is that we at PEI Special Olympics had another car wash in Ch'town and Gordie and Steve, both gold metal winning athletes at the Cdn SO Winter olympics wanted to go so I took them down.  We did a double shift from 9:30AM to 12:30PM.  You would be surprised the amount of cars we wash.  In the 2 days we washed cars we made over $1300.  It is great, we need the money, and it is for a great cause.
I am continue amazed at the big heart and caring attitude of people, and not just us Islanders.  Today we washed cars from at least 7 provinces and 4 states.  Very nice to know that in the day and age of the "Me" generation that so many people who still care.
On the way home I ask the boys where they wanted to go for a burger and Gordie decided on Burger King, it was good we each had a double bacon cheese burger all upsized and it was less than $21.00.  I sprung for the meal cause they were good enough to help with the car wash,  they said on the way home they had fun and would go again if we have any more or something else to do, they are really a great bunch.  No different from you and I as we all have problems just theirs show and ours are hidden.
I guess the best laugh I had today and also something that happened that proves to me that they are no different from us.  Two weeks ago when we went to the first car wash and our 1 1/2 hour shift was up I was going to ask Gordie if he wanted to stay longer than I remembered that I forgot to take my pills (10 pills each morning).  I said I would like to stay but since I forgot to take my pills I had to go home and take them.  This morning when I rolled up to Gordies house and he came out and got in the van he looked me in the eye and asked, "did you take your pills this morning?"   Nice to know that he is thinking of me and also has a much better memory.
     Now for story time:
Your high school reunion.  You get that letter and feel like you only have 6 months to make something out of your life.
     Till next time, take care.

Adding options.

I am a few days late with my posting but I have been trying to add extra items to my blog like a counter, cartoon of the day, and pictures, all unsuccessful I might add.  This kind of PO's me as I want to add the options as it makes it better for the million of fans who read this on a daily basis. HEHEHE.  No I just want to add the options because they are available and it will make this site more interesting.  For anyone who is reading this and have a blod or web site you can go to: http://www.bravenet.com. and they have a lot of options to add to your blog.  Go see you might find something you like, if you do hopefully you will have better luck installing them that I am having so far.  I will try some more as I hate to admit a machine beat me and if I remain unsuccessful I will just move my blog to a new site where I can.
Well that is my rant for today now on to the more important stuff.  As you probally know if you read my blog is I am located in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada so today I am going to post the web address for the site for the city of Summerside.  It is a very interesting site as it has a real time web camera panning part of our city.  It also has a link to the province of PEI where there is a wealth of information on our province.  It also is where you go to get tourism literature on PEI.  The address for the site : http://www.city.summerside.pe.ca/.
It is time to gather around the campfire and to get another story from ol' uncle champ so here goes:
Two rival politicos were together when one said. "I always relish the opportunity to promote my party.  For example, whenever I'm at the airport I'll give the skycap a big tip and say, "Remember to vote Democratic."
His adversary responded,  "I have my own way of doing that-and it doesn't cost me a penny.  I don;t give any tip at all and I also say, "don't forget to vote democratic."
Till we meet again take care, if I decide to go to a new blog I will let you all know.
     Take care.

What's wrong with the weather man,

Here it is Tuesday and the sun is still covered with clouds, but that can't be so as the weatherman said today was to be sunny and hot.  This makes the 17838 day in a row the miserable SOB has been wrong, if that is not a world record well it will be before he gets it right.  I think if the stupid SOB predicted that tonight would be dark than PEI would have its first 24 hours of daylight in a row.  So much for our weather man, O don't care what the weather is as you can't do anything about it.  It would be nice though if you could plan what you would like to do tomorrow tonight with a little confidence that the forecast just might be right.

Well I put a new program on my computer where you can sign your pics, the only problem is you have to do them one at a time and it is quite slow and a bit of a pain in the butt.  The good thing is my time is not very valuable since I have retired.  I like to take pics and share them with friends and I want to get some pics of the yard while the flowers are still out in bloom.  The wife sure does a good job with the landscaping.

     Here goes today's story:
two S'side city workers were making their way down Central street with one digging holes and the other filling them right back in again.
A homeowner watched them for a while, and being a dutiful taxpayer, he felt he had to confront them about what they were doing.
"I understand your concern," Said one of the workers, "but it's really simple.  We work as a threesome and the guy who plants the trees is sick today."

Another Fn' Monday

Well here it is another Mon. & it is raining again, If we haven't already set a new record for rainy days for one summer we will soon.  We just had 3 sunny days in a row and that is the longest stretch of sunny weather we have had this summer.  The weather has been the shi77s and no other way to describe it.
Well as I have said before I won the cut-throat Island survivor contest on the site I go to .  I am now able to set up a link to it if anyone is interested in going to it.  If you would like some info on PEI there are a lot of folks on it who are mostly Islanders who like nothing better than be helpful.  They say around here no one will help you up quicker than an Islander and also no one who will take you down quicker if you get to uppity.  Well the address for this site is: http://www.peiinfo.ca.
Try it you might like it.  I go under the name champ if you try the site, if you do send me a PM.
Well my little story for today is : There were 3 elderly men who went to a coffee shop each afternoon to solve the problems of the world.  One night john's house burned down and the poor fellow was burnt to a crisp.  There was no way to identify the body so john's 2 remaining coffee friends were ask if they would view the body with the idea they might be able to identify it.  When they were lead into the morgue they could see that you could not tell who it was.  One of John's friends ask the officials to turn the body over and when they did he said "no that is not John".  When asked how he could tell he replied "john had 2 assholes".  When asked to explain he replied, "everytime we went into the coffee shop you could hear one of the waitresses say:"here comes John with 2 assholes".

New posting method.

Well this is my 3'rd attempt to do this post as everything something happens and I end up back at the first with nothing left.  Just goes to show you just how stubborn I really am as I am still here trying to finish this so I can post it.
If this isn't enough to rot your sox we now have a new way to make our entries and this is my 2'nd try at it.  The last one I tried frigged me up for 3 days and in the end I had to delete the post and now I am starting again for the 3'rd time.  If you read this you will know that I was successful and finally got it posted.
I am going to do something different from now on as I will be ending all my entries with a little joke or story.  Some will be nice, some will be naughty. & some will be plain filthy.  If you want to go to the comments column at the bottom and tell me what you prefer it will not make any difference as I will be doing my own thing anyway.
Well for the last few days here the weather has been the 3 H's.  Hot, humid, & hazy.  The temp has been in the high 20'sC, and the humidex has been in the nid 30'sC.  Too hot for this kid but Sept. & Oct. Are coming and that is my kind of weather, just 6 more weeks of this crap.
Well the annual S'side Lobster Carnival was over yesterday so I guess that I will not be going again this year.  A few yeard ago when it was part of an agriculture fair it was quite popular but for some reason it went on its own and has been going down hill ever since.
I went to the parade on Mon. though and took over 80 pics with my trusty Sony camera.  I downloaded them to my photo site last night and will send out about 50 invites to friends who are not on PEI so if they want they can view the pics.  I have a site to store my pics that I really like and if you take digital pics or scan photo's you should check out this site.  The address is: http://www.dotphoto.com.  If you check it out it is a free site and a real good place to store your photo's.
If you want to leave your E-MAIL address at the comments section at the bottom of this post I will send you an invite to see the pics I took of the parade and you can get a chance to ck how easy it is to send invites to friends to view your pics.  To questions ask and no commitments and as I have nothing to sell I will not give your address to anyone.
     My first story.
When I was stopped by the local cops for going 53 in a 35 zone I told him I was dyslexic
