These are the musings of a retired male. Some may be interesting, some may be boring, but all will be true. It will contain info om PEI and some links I find interesting. Pull up a chair and enjoy.

Another day.....

Well here it is another Thursday and I have changed my fond again but what the hae it's my blog. I always knew that my spelling stunk and my grammar she aint so good either but since I started this blog (which I enjoy doing) I have also found out my typing is nothing to be proud of either. But as a friend used to tell me that if I ever learned to play an musical instrument it would definitely be a wind one. She used to say that I reminded her of President Kennedy in that we were both gemini's and he was a wind bag too, if I remember right he talked non stop one time for about 2 days. Still not sure if it was a compliment or not but we got a lot of laughs out of it. There are a lot of days when I could use some of those laughs. Lots more crazy things we did together but since this is a family blog and I try to keep it clean I will not go into them here.
Well I only had one response from my quiz and the answer is right. This kind of makes me wonder since the respondent is not from PEI. This brings two points to my mind: (1) was the question too easy, or (2) was the person answering super intelligent, which probally the case.
I have not decided on what course I will follow in the days ahead in my blog but I am leaning to all options with either stories, recipes or questions each blog depending what my mood is at the time. Probally no one reads this anyway so I figure it does not really matter what I do.

New Direction!

Well folks what I am thinking of doing is every now and again including a recipe from my Grandmother long list of cooking I was brought up on. She made a clam chowder to die for and her sugar cookies were famous. A few words about my Grandmother, she run a restaurant during the 20's & 30's and she was well known for her cooking & baking. Funny thing though is she could not make a real good lemon pie and it always annoyed her. I have a lot of her recipes and thought it would be a nice way to remember her as she raised me after my mother died. I have made her clam chowder for friends and they all agree it is a real good one.
Let me know what you think in the comment column but as it is my blog I can do whatever I want so I guess if you are interested you will just have to wait and see what I decide.
I have also thought about having a quiz on Prince Edward Island, having people E-MAIL me their answers and giving prizes to the best answers. Again I would like to have your comments on this idea, just something to have a little fun with. Sample Question would be like:
What was 2 earlier names for Kensington, P.E.I.?
I will have the correct answer in a blog to be appearing in a computer near you in the near future.
Well that is all for now, time for me to walk over to McDonald's to join a bunch of old foggies and try to solve the problems of the world.

Fastpitch Senior A.

Well the senior "A" Eastern Canadian Fastpitch Championship tourney was held in S'side on the weekend and I attended. I was very impressed by the caliber of ball played. Their were 7 teams from the maritimes and Ontario and PEI came 3'rd much to everyone's surprise as they just got together for the tourney and over half the team were still junior aged.
I saw about 6 games and there was not one blow out. The norm was 1 run victories and 4 games going to extra innings. The crowds were poor and the fans missed a real good week-end of ball, it was the best ball overall that I saw here in a number of years.
Guess that is all for now just I will try to update you on the World Juniors to be held here in S'side between June 22 and July 1, 2005. Hopefully we will have some tickets to sell before too long as a tourney pass would make an excellent Christmas present. When they come available I will let you know so keep an eye on this blog for any updates on this tourney.
