These are the musings of a retired male. Some may be interesting, some may be boring, but all will be true. It will contain info om PEI and some links I find interesting. Pull up a chair and enjoy.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Well I am going to do something different today and not complain about a damn thing for a change. The temp today is 24C with a humidex of 31C at 13:15 here in beautiful Summerside. I am not even going to complain about the heat today because I have just checked the long range forecast for next week. Sunny all week with a daytime highs between 16C to 18C, my kind of weather.
One of the joys in my life is listening to music, mainly C & W, but clear of rap or some of the new so called R & R I will listen to almost anything. Better add Gallic singing or bagpipes to that list. Well what I listen to most of the time is internet radio and it is hard to believe the number of stations and the different types of music you can find. I hope someday to run a little station from my computer and to play only music by PEI artists, but that is another story for another day.
What I am listening to now is a station I found on http://www.live365.com it is called KCIX Classic Country and another favorite is CRGW Classic country broadcasting from St. Johns, NL. I would suggest if you like music than you give this site a try as they say they have thousands of different stations and any type of music your little heart desires. This site is either a freeby or you can pay to get better service, I use the freeby and like it. This is the site where I hope to run my little station out of, for any aspiring DJ's out there also check out this site. The only problem is on the freeby you will get some pop-up-adds but I enjoy the music and they are not hard to delete. Well I guess that is all for today.

P.E.I. Forever part Deux.

Well we have had some comments on our last post and apparently we have offended some people, well that never was our intent unless you are one of the a$$h0les who PO me with your superior attitude. Most of the people who choose to move here are wonderful people who after they are established become a real plus. They bring new ideas and a different way to do things that help to make our lives all a little better. Not to say we don't have problems here as any place will, it is how you handle them and how you prevent them from happening again is what counts.
I was a Vice-president and Rep for a maritime branch of a national union for 9 years and each year I attended a convention in a different province. I found that "Capers", "Newfs", & "Islanders" always seemed to hang together and I believe it is that people on Islands are different, I could be wrong but every time this is what would happen. The first to work, and to work hard, but also the first to party, and party hardy.
That is all I have to say on this subject except I do not resent anyone who chooses to move to PEI and make their home here, in fact I think how smart they are for choosing PEI. If you don't like something tell us in a nice way and offer changes that is all I ask.
Now for today's story:

P,E.I. Forever.

Well today I am going to rant about something that burns my butt and I don't mean a flame about 3 feet tall.
If you don't know PEI I will explain that their are 2 kind of residents, those who were born here and those who were not. The old story is if you were not born on PEI you will never be considered an Islander and I might add that to us native born Islanders that is very true. Don't get me wrong as we like people who move here but lately we seem to be getting more than our share of A$$h0le$. Nothing we ever do is right and thank God they moved here so they can correct us in the errors of our ways.
That attitude is all to common around here and the good news is that the new bridge that hooked the rest of the world to PEI runs both ways. I am sure if they lack the funds to leave that the island way would be for all us true islanders to chip up and come up with the $39.00 required. I hope I don't offend anyone because that is not my purpose here and I know we have problems on PEI, just like anyplace you might choose to live. What you do is stop your GD complaining and try to make some changes with us Islanders.
I will try to put it another way, a friend decides he would like to move into your house and live with you and you agree this is a good idea. After he moves in he decides he doesn't like the shape of your house, the paint job is crap and the color is worse. The furniture is garbage, the floor covering is not up to date. Their is nothing good about your house. I am sure all you folks that knock the Island way of life would not put up with a guest that acted this way. Well that is how I see you and as I said before if there is something you don't like let us know because we can take constructive critisam and if you have a better idea we might even help you change it.
I think the best part is they wonder why we will never call them an Islander.
Well I am glad to get that off my chest and mind and before the crapping on me begins try and remember that with your attitude I can't really think of any place you could move and be welcomed with open arms.
Now for todays story:
Charlie hadn't been feeling well so he went to his Dr. After the Dr gave him the results of tests.
"I'm afraid I have bad news" the Dr. said " you're dieing and you don't have much time left."
"oh, that's terrible!" moaned Charlie. "tell me, Doc., how much time do I have left?'
"Ten," the Dr. said softly.
"Ten?' Charlie ask. "Ten what? Years? months? weeks?"
"Nine..."

Moncton outdoor craft fair.

Yesterday was Sat so me, the misses, her sister, & her hubby all went to Moncton on a shopping trip, and a visit to the annual outdoor craft show that takes place in Victoria Park. There was a lot of nice crafts there and over 200 exhibitors and more different types of crafts than I ever knew existed. This is the 24'th one and my first visit, it is always held the first weekend in August for anyone who would like to go next year, if crafts are your thing I woukd suggest that you would like it there. The artisans are from all areas of the maritimes and do not only represent Moncton or N.B. The in-laws have attended the last 10 and the only one it has not rained on was the first one they attended so I would also suggest a raid coat or umbrella. If crafts are your thingie the annual Moncton Christmas Craft show will be held at the Moncton coliseum on November 26, 27, & 28'th.
We also visited Cosco, now their is a place that usually ends up with more of my money than I care to part with but I really enjoy shopping there. Did good their yesterday as we spent less than $50.00, a new low record. I guess that we hope to go to Bangor in October has us trying to cut back a little so we will have more to blow when we get their. I opened an American account at the bank a few months ago and when I make a deposit in it every month in Cdn $ they convert it and when I withdraw it I get in in $ USA. I put in some everymonth and can't wait to spend it, I really like going to Bangor.
After our visits to all the stores in Moncton we decided to go to the boomerang restaurant for supper and a very wise choice I might add. The food was super, the service was average, and the prices for what we got were more than fair. We started with a Blooming Onion, while it was good they sprinkled cayenne pepper on it so I didn't like it as much as Pat & Willies in Ch'town, the only thing we had that wasn't over the top. Dave & I had the 16 oz Rib Eye, Mine was cooked just the way I like it, a nice pink in the middle and very tender & juicy, the hand cut french fries with the peel still left on were good. The large Battered Onion Rings were as good as I have eaten. The price for this was $19.99 with what I got and the way it was prepared seemed more than fair to me. I will not make a comment on what the girls had just say they were more than pleased and before we left had already decided that our next trip to Moncton will include another visit to boomerangs. The only negative thing I can say about the place is it doesn't open until 4:00PM.
Now for today's story:
If a man talks in the woods and no woman are present to hear is he still wrong?
